Singuli

My mood is always different. I do not always start from the same point: it could be a fabric, a shape, a detail that gives me the idea to create a piece. Recycling is a part of me, it is my way of life, and often it is the starting point of my creativity. I try to transform “used” clothes to keep their history and avoid to throw them away. Freedom of creating has became for me a need that goes beyond the mechanism of collections. The cloth becomes in this way an unique and unrepeatable object with its own identity. It is a requirement of dedicating time to do a piece and time to use it against the idea of a “fast” fashion and the unbridled consumerism of any field. My direction is toward salvage and from salvage was born my new project named Singuli with a friend of mine. We were tired of the rapidity of the mass- production and we wanted to satisfy the request of certain high level shop of something “more special”. We are confident that is still possibile to express themselves and experiment. The latin word Singuli express the idea of our clothes created “one by one”. Cut and decomposed pieces assembled in new and original forms. Pants can be tops, sweaters can change into skirts, capes or dresses: there is no limit to the transformation. There are no fix rules, no distinction between spring and summer: what is important is to bring back to life the “soul” of the cloth and to give him a new existence with the personality of whom will wear it. In Singuli Collection there is respect and accuracy for the cloth and its functionality is back again. Veronique.
